Synopsis: It's a no talent show at school; introducing Porky Pig in the second string.
Comments: Two strip Technicolor always looks like a 3D movie to me. Not that it looks three dimensional. That teacher sure is a cud. Would that have been a joke at the time? I would guess so; it was one o fthe old English four letter words, right? Porky looks like he's from Boston in that (turtleneck?). Text after the intros, tho it's not really a gag. Followed by a building establishing shot. This is reversed from what I would expect. Instead of listening to the teacher, Porky is reading a history book... Nothing more terrible than a talent show. Sentient animals and non sentient animals in this; including both kinds of dogs and cats. Porky's stuttering is just an almost unbearable joke; I don't understand why they brought him back. I guess people liked him; which means, of course, that people are stupid. This cartoon is about as funny as a bucket of sand. Joe (DAUGHTERY?) voiced Porky Pig here; he was a real stutterer. Awwww. I love this cartoon. I think it's very cute. The two strip color has a nice pastel look to it. I used to hum the title song when I was a kid. Poor Beans. Upstaged by a stuttering pig.

ReplyDeleteCud of course is a reference to what cows chew, the semi digested grass or hay that comes from their second stomach.
